Homewaters Project joins forces with IslandWood! It's official. After fourteen years affiliated with North Seattle Community College, on July 1 our staff and programs will join renowned Bainbridge nonprofit IslandWood to reach more area students and teachers and help them connect with the natural world. Homewaters will retain the unique urban, local elements of our investigative and experiential offerings. Read the press release or a list of FAQs online, and, most importantly (and fun)...Come celebrate with us!! Monday May 17, 6:30-9pm, Ray's Boathouse: the Know Your Homewaters Party! If you have come before, you know this party rocks. Delicious food, organic wine, sunset over Puget Sound, live jazz, delightful silent auction items, and good cheer! Click here for tickets to your favorite benefit (only $40 in advance)! Proceeds support the work of Homewaters to connect people to nearby nature. Lest you think all we do around here is get cozy with kindred nonprofits and have parties, know that demand has never been higher for our field science investigations. Test-driving the new partnership, we welcome the lovely and talented IslandWood intern Liz Mack to boost our squadron of educators from two to three. This spring, look for Linda and Kate (pictured) and Liz roaming the wet and wild spots in our urban ecosystems with eager kids and crawling critters.
